Is anyone else ready for springtime? While the chance of a little snow is always thrilling, I for one can’t wait for colorful blooming flowers, warm, sunshiny afternoons and boat rides on the lake.

It may seem out of reach, but spring is on its way, bringing with it the 10th annual Valley of the Vapors Independent Music Festival. The festival, which takes place March 14th-18th, will feature workshops, art and musicians who are ready to rock.

The St. Patrick’s Day parade is also drawing near, and with Duck Dynasty’s Mountain Man as the parade starter, it’s sure to be a fun one (see our “Spotlight” interview with him inside).

Say goodbye to the winter blues by attending the Splash of Red event benefiting Arkansas Children’s Hospital on March 15th. The fundraiser, presented by the Garland County Circle of Friends, will honor two brave Hot Springs kids who have been treated at Children’s.

Spring will be here before you know it — March 20th in fact. I’m counting down the days!
