Real Deal

Making people's dreams a reality is why Joy Bush, associate broker at Trademark Real Estate, has stayed in the business for 35 years.

“I have a wonderful job,” she said. “I've helped so many people with a dream of owning their own home find just that. From showing a house to making repairs to finally closing and a family moving in — the whole process makes the job a challenge and very rewarding.”

Joy is a lifelong resident of Hot Springs and graduate of Hot Springs High School. Both of her parents are lifelong residents making her a “true native.”

Though she'll be the first to admit that real estate is a lifestyle for her, she does make time to visit her sons, Alex, in New York, and Mac here in Hot Springs, and is a member of First United Methodist Church. She has served on several committees and is currently active with the Mint Juleps Garden Club.

Having graduated with her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Arkansas, she got in to real estate after college and moved to Little Rock where she was an escrow officer for a title company. She then moved to Dallas and worked as a commercial real estate developer before returning home to Hot Springs. Over the span of her career, she has owned two of her own real estate companies.

“You can say I've worked in all aspects of the business,” she said. “I've closed over $150 million in transactions in my career and I deal now in listing and marketing homes, lots and commercial properties.”

Joy has earned the Certified Residential Specialist and Graduate REALTOR Institute designations, well-equipping her with the tools needed to help individuals buy and sell their homes, especially considering the market in Hot Springs has improved.

“The market has really bounced back since 2007,” she said. “We're seeing more and more people buying lake property and we're seeing everything getting better.

She loves Hot Springs and makes sure when her clients are looking into purchasing commercial or personal property here that they realize what all the city has to offer.

“I use this all the time and anyone who has worked with me has heard me say this, but it's so true — whatever you're looking for, we've got it right here,” she said. “I've been fortunate to have traveled the entire world and there's just no place like Hot Springs.”
