Thread Lifting a 10 Month Retrospective

Thread lifting uses a series of microfilaments positioned at specific areas of the face to lift the eye brows, lift sagging skin over the cheeks, reduce nasolabial and marionette lines, define the jawline, and reduce “necklace wrinkles” on chins. Strategic placement of the filament in the direction of youthful vectors also help stimulate collagen and firm the skin.

In early December 2016, during our initial product training, I received PDO threads to several areas of my face. The treatment took about 30 minutes. After treatment, I experienced minor discomfort and swelling. Just as with filler, I returned to normal activity the next day. The claim was that the treatment would last several years. After seeing the effects of all the other aesthetic treatments, I was skeptical. How could inserting tiny threads into the face be more effective than neurotoxin and dermal filler, and how could their effects provide long lasting results?

I look in the mirror 10 months later and cannot explain why, but it has provided a permanent improvement for me. The yo-yo effects of neurotoxin treatments and fillers every few months are no longer my norm. My cheeks, brow, and neck have been permanently lifted and I have retained all the improvements!

At first, I was thrilled with the immediate results but the trainers claimed I would continue to improve over 12 weeks following treatment. This also proved to be true. The sagging cheeks that I usually experienced after 4 months of filler are still holding with no sign of need for touchup. My neck, which usually sags, and necklace wrinkles seem to have disappeared as well. I am more comfortable with my looks knowing I don’t need to be conscious of a double chin look in all my photographs.

We have been treating patients in our clinic this year with these same excellent results. We have experienced their elation as they are transformed. I looked back on my original article written regarding this treatment and find that, YES, the treatment is exactly as promised. I would personally recommend it to anyone as a cost-effective way to look your very best.
