- Police files STEVEN MROSS

A Hot Springs woman was arrested Monday after allegedly trying to stab her boyfriend during an al- tercation at her residence.

Marquista Julian Pas- chal, 19, of 123 Castleton St., was taken into custody at her residence shortly before 4 p.m. and charged with third-degree domestic battery, a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail.

Paschal remained in custody Tuesday on zero bond and is set to appear

Aug. 8 in Garland County

District Court.

According to the affidavit, shortly before

3:30 p.m., Hot

Springs police responded to the residence regarding a disturbance and made contact with Paschal and her boyfriend, 24, who said they had been dating for 11 months.

He said he told Paschal he was going to play basketball and she became upset and started yelling at him and told him to get his things and get out of her house. He said he started to pack his belongings to leave, but she kept interfering.

He said at one point Paschal got a cup of urine, poured it

on the floor and then put his clothes into the urine. He said he put his arm up against Paschal so he could finish putting his clothes in a bag and she left the room.

He alleges Paschal returned with a kitchen knife and told him, “Ain’t no man going to put his hands on me.” He saw Paschal had a knife in her right hand so he grabbed her right arm to keep her from stabbing him, he said.

The boyfriend reportedly sustained a small cut on his left side near his rib cage during the struggle for the knife. He was finally able to free himself and went outside, but Paschal followed him and they continued to argue. He said he was attempting to leave again when he noticed his rear passenger tire was flat.

Paschal told officers she and her boyfriend had argued about another female and she reportedly admitted to telling him to get his things and get out of the house. She said he grabbed and pushed her during the argument.

Paschal did admit to punching her boyfriend in the face, but officers were unable to locate a knife.
