Mid-America Science Museum announces scholarship winner
Mid-America Science Museum recently announced that this year’s college scholarship will be presented to Haley Riggs.
A Fountain Lake Charter High School senior, Riggs plans to pursue a science-related degree in Marine Biology and is currently a Team Tesla volunteer at Mid-America Science Museum, a news release said.
Guests will have the opportunity to meet Riggs and her family during Taste of the Holidays at Mid-America Science Museum from 6-9 p.m. Thursday following a special VIP reception for sponsors and honorees. Riggs will also be assisting educators with fun science-related experiments throughout the evening as guests enjoy food and drinks from more than 20 vendors from around the state.
Presented by TLI Print, Oaklawn Racing & Gaming, Mid-South Engineering and Tri-Lakes Liquor, this year’s Taste of the Holidays will feature live musical performances by Jacob Flores and DJ Courier Coleman and will include a premium silent auction with items ranging from a romantic eightday trip for two up the Danube River courtesy of Viking River Cruises to tickets to Disney World and Graceland.

Julie Pasquinzo, Mrs. Mena, was crowned 2018 Mrs. Arkansas America at the Mrs. Arkansas America Pageant on Nov. 11 at the Hot Springs Convention Center. Pasquinzo also won the interview portion of the competition. The pageant’s first runner-up was Mrs. Lake Dardanelle, Selina Smith; the second runner-up was Mrs. Central Arkansas, Candace Carpenter; the third runner-up was Mrs. Central Northwest, Tina Beth McClure; the fourth runner-up was Mrs. Pulaski County, Bayley Rye; and the fifth runner-up was Mrs. Lonoke County, Stephanie Bromley. Pasquinzo will compete in August at the Mrs. America Pageant in Las Vegas.
