Elks honor Students of the Month

Hot Springs Elks Lodge No. 380 honored its Students of the Month for February earlier this week.

The honorees were Aalisha Bhaichand, the daughter of Nina Patel and Naresh Bhaichand, and Ryan Bird, the son of John and Marianne Bird, from Lakeside High School, and Elexys Gilbert, daughter of Billy and Tabbetha Gilbert, and Brandon Bennett, son of William and Diana Bennett, from Lake Hamilton High School.

The students were honored during the Elks Lodge meeting on Wednesday. The four were chosen as “outstanding students to represent their high schools,” a news release said.

The students and their families had dinner with Elks members before being introduced to the membership before the regular meeting. “As Elks, we applaud these students for their commitment to their education and to their parents for all the support and encouragement they give them,” the release said.
