Eve­lyn Joyce Ziegen­fuss

60 year res­i­dent of the Santa Clarita Val­ley, CA, Eve­lyn Joyce Ziegen­fuss passed away peace­fully on the even­ing of July 12, 2017 in her home. She had been in de­clin­ing health for some time. She was born Septem­ber 6, 1932.

Joyce and her hus­band Richard would have cel­e­brated their 70th an­niver­sary July 26th. They were avid campers for many years. In the 1970’s she worked for Elec­trol, an elec­tronLFV PDQXIDFWXUHU RQH RI WKH ¿UVW EXVL­nesses to open in the in­dus­trial cen­ter. 6KH DOVR ZRUNHG IRU WKH ¿UVW 79 FDEOH com­pany in the val­ley in the early 70’s and again in the 1980’s. She re­tired in the 1990’s as a chi­ro­prac­tic as­sis­tant for Dr. Rod Cum­mings.

She was ac­tive in the Questers and served as Pres­i­dent for the Santa Clarita Val­ley chap­ter. She loved to visit with peo­ple and share the early days of the SCV. Joyce was also a col­lec­tor. She en­joyed Na­tive Amer­i­can pot­tery, Frankoma pot­tery and Josef Orig­i­nals, among oth­ers.

She is sur­vived by her hus­band Richard who is a WWII vet­eran, their daugh­ters Gail Pear­son, De­bra Matthies and Shelley Yoshi­moto and their spouses. She was very proud and blessed to say she had 9 grand­chil­dren, 19 great-grand­chil­dren and 2 great-great-grand­chil­dren, and count­less friends.

The fam­ily wishes to ac­knowl­edge a very spe­cial lady, Donna Sny­der, whom they con­sider fam­ily as well. She has been a dear friend and con­stant com­pan­ion through­out Joyce’s ill­ness.

No for­mal ser­vices will be held. A quiet fam­ily gath­er­ing will cel­e­brate her life.
