Evelyn Joyce Ziegenfuss
60 year resident of the Santa Clarita Valley, CA, Evelyn Joyce Ziegenfuss passed away peacefully on the evening of July 12, 2017 in her home. She had been in declining health for some time. She was born September 6, 1932.
Joyce and her husband Richard would have celebrated their 70th anniversary July 26th. They were avid campers for many years. In the 1970’s she worked for Electrol, an electronLFV PDQXIDFWXUHU RQH RI WKH ¿UVW EXVLnesses to open in the industrial center. 6KH DOVR ZRUNHG IRU WKH ¿UVW 79 FDEOH company in the valley in the early 70’s and again in the 1980’s. She retired in the 1990’s as a chiropractic assistant for Dr. Rod Cummings.
She was active in the Questers and served as President for the Santa Clarita Valley chapter. She loved to visit with people and share the early days of the SCV. Joyce was also a collector. She enjoyed Native American pottery, Frankoma pottery and Josef Originals, among others.
She is survived by her husband Richard who is a WWII veteran, their daughters Gail Pearson, Debra Matthies and Shelley Yoshimoto and their spouses. She was very proud and blessed to say she had 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, and countless friends.
The family wishes to acknowledge a very special lady, Donna Snyder, whom they consider family as well. She has been a dear friend and constant companion throughout Joyce’s illness.
No formal services will be held. A quiet family gathering will celebrate her life.
