In his Sept. 12 col­umn “What’s ahead on lo­cal roads,” Jonathan Kraut in­cor­rectly stated the source of money for cur­rent pave­ment re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion work be­ing done on In­ter­state 5. That two-year, $171 mil­lion Cal­trans project is funded by a com­bi­na­tion of state and fed­eral money prin­ci­pally gen­er­ated by taxes on fuel and paid at the pump.
