More than 30 Kutztown Area School District students are busy spending their afternoons and evenings rehearsing for the 2017 musical “Once Upon A Mattress,” which will be performed in the high school auditorium in November. “Once Upon A Mattress” is a fast-paced musical comedy adapted from the fairy tale “The Princess and the Pea.”

The musical is being performed under the direction of Samantha Clarke, a graduate of Philadelphia’s University of the Arts.
Ms. Clark serves as a teaching artist at Wilson High School and The Yocum Institute, and teaches and directs at Penn State Berks and Montgomery County Community College.
