Vandals cause $20,000 worth of damage to school
BIRDSBORO >> Vandals caused approximately $20,000 worth of damage to the former Birdsboro Elementary Center earlier this month.
According to reports, one juvenile has been identified as a suspect after the school was trashed earlier this month.
The damage included paint and glue tossed all over the school as well as some flooding damage.
The vandals also tore apart classrooms, halls and suppl closets in addition to clogging toilets with towels and leaving water running from faucets.
Police believe more than just the identified suspect were involved in the vandalism but that the current suspect is not cooperating with police, reports said.
The school, owned by Daniel Boone School District, closed permanently in une as part of the district’s “elementary school reconfiguration plan.”
School officials have been debating repairs to the school and future use of the facility.
