Getting messy for charity

The FBLA hosted a color run event at Rockmart High School this past weekend to help raise awareness for the March of Dimes.

Runners from around the area came to support the cause and to run in the 5K race.

The event came as colorful as planned.

“Its been fun and we learned a lot hosting this,” said Janet Dover who is an FBLA officer. “Hopefully next year we will be able to make it even bigger and do a lot more with it.”

Since it was a fun run and not an official race, no winners were named or announced.

“It just a great thing to do to help out with the March of Dimes and its also just so much fun getting colors thrown at you running,” said Madison Bozydaj who was a partic- ipant in the event.

All proceeds from Run at the Rock go straight to the March of Dimes to supply financial and medical aid to premature infants.

Rockmart’s FBLA decided to run with the momentum and host another fundraiser after last year’s success raising money for Relay for Life.
