Blanken­ship takes 1st at In­vi­ta­tional

The Cedar­town cross coun­try team is off to a solid start, with one of their run­ners pick­ing up a first place fin­ish in the race, and the team fin­ish­ing in the top 5.

Cedar town’ s boys placed third at the Ar­muchee In­vi­ta­tional over the week­end on Satur­day, and the girls fin­ished 10th over­all.

Ja­son Blanken­ship won the var­sity boys race with a time of 17:31.

Shortly be­hind him was Eli­jah Pace with a time of 18:39.

“All the boys had a great race this week­end,” said head coach Kris­ten Lit­tle in an email on Satur­day night.

It was a solid start on the sea­son for the boys af­ter they took a 12th place fin­ish at the Ridge Ferry In­vi­ta­tional.

From the girls side, Holly Dun­can placed 10th with a time of 25:08, and Alli Hicks placed 11th with a time of 25:14.

“To­day was a per­fect day to run,” said Lit­tle.

The Lady Bull­dogs team fin­ished 19th in the open­ing meet of the sea­son at the Ridge Ferry In­vi­ta­tional.

Lit­tle said the team is back in ac­tion this Satur­day at Wood­land High School for their up­com­ing meet.
