In order to allow our employees time off with their families for the holidays, the offices of the Polk County Standard Journal will be closed on Christmas day and will re-open the following morning on Tuesday, Dec. 26. Regular advertising deadlines for the Dec. 27 edition will be this Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 5 p.m., and legal and classified advertising need to be completed and turned in by Thursday, Dec. 21 at noon. Make a New Year’s resolution you can keep and make a difference in the life of a child today by getting involved with the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Haralson and Polk County. The organization that utilizes volunteers to be an advocate of a child in juvenile court proceedings, as well as acting as a mentor for our local youth.
