East­side giv­ing back dur­ing the hol­i­days

East­side Ele­men­tary has been a busy place this holiday sea­son, and both stu­dents and fac­ulty are giv­ing back in a va­ri­ety of ways be­fore they went on win­ter break.

The school’s K-Kids Club re­cently held and Empty Stock­ing fundraiser at the school for the holiday sea­son. The club mem­bers col­lected money each day for one week from the home­rooms, which has been do­nated to the Amer­i­can Le­gion this past week help fund their yearly project of as­sist­ing fam­i­lies dur­ing Christ­mas.

The club also re­cently went Christ­mas car­ol­ing. They vis­ited SouthCrest Bank Smith- Lock­wood Drug and Jew­elry, the Ki­wa­nis Club and the Rock­mart Nurs­ing Home bring­ing joy and holiday fa­vorites to lo­cal res­i­dents. The East­side Ele­men­tary em­ploy­ees also do­nated a large amount of toys to be dis­trib­uted by the Amer­i­can Le­gion dur­ing the holiday sea­son.
