Eastside giving back during the holidays
Eastside Elementary has been a busy place this holiday season, and both students and faculty are giving back in a variety of ways before they went on winter break.
The school’s K-Kids Club recently held and Empty Stocking fundraiser at the school for the holiday season. The club members collected money each day for one week from the homerooms, which has been donated to the American Legion this past week help fund their yearly project of assisting families during Christmas.
The club also recently went Christmas caroling. They visited SouthCrest Bank Smith- Lockwood Drug and Jewelry, the Kiwanis Club and the Rockmart Nursing Home bringing joy and holiday favorites to local residents. The Eastside Elementary employees also donated a large amount of toys to be distributed by the American Legion during the holiday season.
Bridgett Kirsch, Barry Owen, Sheila Brinkley, Chloe Brinkley and Wesley Cupp give a donation on behalf of staff to the American Legion for their Toys for Tots drive.
