KIVFD extinguishes evening trash fire
CHESTER — The Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department responded to a two-alarm fire in Chester at 8:10 p.m. on Oct. 19 near the rear yard of a resident’s home, the State Fire Marshal’s Office said in a report.
It took seven firefighters two minutes to put out the trash fire at the home of Daniel Malone of 210 Newtown Road, the report said.
The fire, discovered and reported by Malone, caused $100 of damages. No one was injured.
