(TNS) — An Ocean City amusement park has suspended service on a ride similar to the one in Ohio where a deadly accident occurred Wednesday night, Maryland officials say.

Trimper’s Rides closed a ride that is like the Fireball attraction at the Ohio State Fair, said Theresa Blaner, a spokeswoman for the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation. State inspectors were at Trimper’s to check out the ride on Thursday morning, she said.

The boardwalk amusement park is the only place in the state that features the ride, Blaner said.

“As of right now, that ride is not operating in the state of Maryland,” Blaner said.

One man was killed and seven others injured at the Ohio State Fair after the accident, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
