Ch­e­sa­peake to kick off 2nd Satur­day sea­son

— Cel­e­brate Se­cond Satur­day at the Ch­e­sa­peake Col­lege Cam­bridge Cen­ter on Satur­day, Oct. 13, with an ex­hibit open­ing and com­mu­nity re­cep­tion from 5 to 6:30 pm in the Leggett Gallery at 418 Race St.

Ch­e­sa­peake will kick off its 2018-19 Se­cond Satur­day par­tic­i­pa­tion with a spe­cial event. Pres­i­dent Cliff Cop­per­smith and in­terim Cam­bridge Cen­ter dDirec­tor Am­ber McGin­nis will host the event, which is free and open to the com­mu­nity.

The event also will mark the open­ing of a new ex­hibit in the Leggett Gallery fea­tur­ing the work of ac­claimed pho­tog­ra­pher Bill Wha­ley.

Wha­ley, an East New Mar­ket res­i­dent, has trav­eled the globe pho­tograph­ing the peo­ple and places in many coun­tries. His fa­vorite pho­tos, how­ever, con­tinue to re­sult from his trav­els around the Del­mar va Penin­sula. His photo “Puf­fin at Rest” re­ceived a first-place award in the Ward Mu­seum of Water­fowl Art 2017 Com­pe­ti­tion.

This ex­hibit fea­tures lo­cal scenes of the wildlife, light­houses, beaches and peo­ple who make this re­gion spe­cial.

Gui­tarist Quinn Pars­ley and sev­eral of his stu­dents will pro­vide live mu­sic dur­ing the event.

Re­fresh­ments for the re­cep­tion will be pro­vided by The Wine Bar.
