QUEEN ANNE — A Salute to the Red White and Blue — an event featuring entertaining comedy, nostalgic musical numbers, haronious singing and dancing — will be held starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Ruthsburg Community Hall, 105 Damsontown Road, Queen Anne.
The entertainment will feature patriotic and traditional songs by a variety of a cappella singing groups, interspersed with comedy routines modeled after USO performances. A special guest will provide a few jokes.
Harmony on the Bay (a Sweet Adelines chorus), Hot Pink Quartet and Bay Country Men’s Chorus will provide barbershop singing. A special treat will be River Voices, the Chester River Chorale’s community outreach a cappella ensemble.
Donald Blad, as “Dynamic Don the DJ,” will spin some tunes after the performances, so the chorus and audience members can mingle and dance.
All veterans can attend free of charge. Non-veterans are asked to pay a fee of $15 for adults and $6 for children 10 and younger. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. so everyone can enjoy refreshments before the show.
This event is funded partially by a grant from Queen Anne’s County Arts Council and Maryland State Arts Council.
