Veterans Day con­cert set for Nov. 10

A Salute to the Red White and Blue — an event fea­tur­ing en­ter­tain­ing com­edy, nos­tal­gic mu­si­cal num­bers, har­mo­nious singing and danc­ing — will be held start­ing at 7 p.m. Satur­day, Nov. 10, at Ruths­burg Com­mu­nity Hall in Queen Anne.

QUEEN ANNE — A Salute to the Red White and Blue — an event fea­tur­ing en­ter­tain­ing com­edy, nos­tal­gic mu­si­cal num­bers, ha­ro­nious singing and danc­ing — will be held start­ing at 7 p.m. Satur­day, Nov. 10, at Ruths­burg Com­mu­nity Hall, 105 Dam­son­town Road, Queen Anne.

The en­ter­tain­ment will fea­ture pa­tri­otic and tra­di­tional songs by a va­ri­ety of a cap­pella singing groups, in­ter­spersed with com­edy rou­tines mod­eled after USO per­for­mances. A spe­cial guest will pro­vide a few jokes.

Har­mony on the Bay (a Sweet Ade­lines cho­rus), Hot Pink Quar­tet and Bay Coun­try Men’s Cho­rus will pro­vide bar­ber­shop singing. A spe­cial treat will be River Voices, the Chester River Cho­rale’s com­mu­nity out­reach a cap­pella en­sem­ble.

Don­ald Blad, as “Dy­namic Don the DJ,” will spin some tunes after the per­for­mances, so the cho­rus and au­di­ence mem­bers can min­gle and dance.

All veterans can at­tend free of charge. Non-veterans are asked to pay a fee of $15 for adults and $6 for chil­dren 10 and younger. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. so every­one can en­joy re­fresh­ments be­fore the show.

This event is funded par­tially by a grant from Queen Anne’s County Arts Coun­cil and Mary­land State Arts Coun­cil.
