Trappe man is­sued DUI ci­ta­tions

EAS­TON — Eas­ton po­lice is­sued traf­fic ci­ta­tions to a Trappe man on Satur­day, Oct. 20, charg­ing him with driv­ing un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, Robert H. Bridge Jr., 44, was driv­ing south on Eas­ton Park­way and crossed the white line sev­eral times.

Po­lice said of­fi­cers stopped the ve­hi­cle and smelled an al­co­holic bev­er­age com­ing from Bridge’s breath. Po­lice said his eyes were glassy and blood­shot.

Po­lice asked Bridge to exit the ve­hi­cle and per­form Stan­dard­ized Field So­bri­ety Tests. Of­fi­cers then saw an open Bud­weiser beer in the driver side door, po­lice said.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, Bridge re­fused to com­plete any tests.

He was is­sued traf­fic ci­ta­tions charg­ing him with driv­ing while un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol, driv­ing while im­paired by al­co­hol, neg­li­gent driv­ing and fail­ure to drive right of cen­ter.
