Car­di­nals: Ari­zona re­leased quar­ter­back Sam Brad­ford, whose eight NFL sea­sons have been plagued by in­juries. He signed a one-year, $20 mil­lion con­tract – with $15 mil­lion guar­an­teed – in the off­sea­son but was re­placed by rookie Josh Rosen dur­ing a Week 3 loss to the Bears. He’s been in­ac­tive for every game since.

Raiders: De­fen­sive end Bruce Irvin was re­leased, The Ath­letic re­ported. His play­ing time had dra­mat­i­cally de­creased in the past two games, the Mer­cury News of San Jose, Calif., re­ported.

Pack­ers: Re­ceiver Geron­imo Al­li­son will miss Sun­day’s game against New Eng­land with mul­ti­ple in­juries.

Bears: Three-time Pro Bowl line­man Kyle Long was placed on in­jured re­serve be­cause of a ten­don in­jury in his right foot. He will be out for at least eight weeks.

Colts: Kicker Adam Vi­natieri’s jersey and cleats – worn last Sun­day when he set the NFL’s ca­reer scor­ing record – along with the foot­ball he booted for the mark will be dis­played at Pro Foot­ball Hall of Fame. Vi­natieri fin­ished the day with 2,550 ca­reer points, sur­pass­ing the pre­vi­ous record of 2,544 held by Hall of Famer Morten An­der­sen.

Shine Game cap­tains: Pro Foot­ball Hall of Famers Will Shields and Ae­neas Wil­liams, three-time Pro Bowler Mark Brunell and three-time Su­per Bowl cham­pion Wil­lie McGinest will serve as the East-West Shrine Game leg­ends cap­tains. The 94th an­nual East-West Shrine Game, which fea­tures some of col­lege foot­ball’s best prospects, is sched­uled for Jan. 19 in St. Peters­burg, Florida.
