Westford Academy has new Hall class

Westford Academy has announced the latest class of student- athletes, team members, coach and contributo­rs voted for induction into the Westford Academy Athletic Hall of Fame.

Inductees include ice hockey coach Bob Carpenter; cross country and track & field standout Trey Cassidy ( Class of 1986); former athletic director ( Robert Conley; basketball star Matt Ellis ( 2012); football, basketball and track & field star Marc Ericson ( 1986); soccer and basketball star Samantha Hyslip ( 2014); football and lacrosse star Zach Ingalls ( 2011); basketball standout Alyssa Jann ( 2007); basketball and baseball star T. J. Jann ( 2010); field hockey, basketball and tennis star Caroline Kavanagh ( 1980); former principal Dr. Joseph Lisi; and swimming standout Jennifer Marrkand ( 2014)

Also being inducted is the 2003 baseball team, which included head Coach Peter Arthur, varsity assistant coaches

Brian Thompson and Roger Malonson, junior varsity coach Mike Moore, Steve Burndrett, Rob Demagistri­s, Scott Dellorso, Tom Gagnon, Eric Gray, Rob Hennessy, Tom Heslin, Kyle Higginboth­am, Joe Kendrigan, Sean Meredith, Pat Mulroy, Mark Musser, Chad Paddock, Wilder Parks, Greg Robins, Steven Shackleton, Eric Smolin, Ryan Thompson, Bob Tito and John Turkovich.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the original induction banquet scheduled for Oct. 17, 2020 has been postponed. The inductees will be honored at a banquet in the fall of 2021 ( date, time and location to be determined).

First ace at Tewksbury CC

North Andover’s Janet Foley recorded the first hole-in-one of the year at Tewksbury Country Club on Thursday.

Foley aced the 137-yard second hole using a driver.

The shot was witnessed by Mary Ellen Sullivan and Dottie Foley.
