Lon­go­ria, Ro­driguez to get Latino me­dia award

Eva Lon­go­ria and Gina Ro­driguez will be among those hon­ored at the Amer­i­can Latino Me­dia Arts awards on Nov. 4.

Wilmer Valder­rama is host of the cel­e­bra­tion of Latino achieve­ments in Amer­i­can en­ter­tain­ment and me­dia.

Ac­tivists Saman­tha Fuentes and Jamie Mar­golin also will be hon­ored. Fuentes sur­vived the Park­land, Florida, school shoot­ing, and Mar­golin founded the Zero Hour move­ment to ad­dress cli­mate change.

UnidosUS, pre­vi­ously known as Na­tional Coun­cil of La Raza, cre­ated the ALMA awards in 1995 as a way to pro­mote fair, ac­cu­rate and bal­anced por­tray­als of Lati­nos in the en­ter­tain­ment in­dus­try.
