It must be time for a change

The Sun News (Sunday) - - Opinion -

Laws are normally created to have individuals follow a path for conformity, equality or future progress among others. Let's review our SC representatives progress to fix our roads. Keep our road fees the same? Tax on gas, two cents a year, but let's spend a lot of money on administration and tax rebates on the two cents, instead of our roads.

Wait a minute, electric and hybrid vehicles are trying to use less gas and pollutants, thereby cheating SC of their gas tax, so we'll create an additional tax assessment just for them. I purchased a hybrid in 2006 and received a $150 tax incentive, because SC believes in fuel efficiency and less air pollution, and that is what we told the car manufacturers to come to SC.

Fast forward to 2018, and we're lucky that car manufacturers are already here, because not one of them is looking to produce gas guzzlers to fund SC roads. Our SC representatives must have dementia to explain their behavior, but it must be time for a change.
