Backus in the right

The Taos News - - FAVOR Y CONTRA - Taos

With regard to your editorial today regarding Judge Backus’ decision to release the Amalia suspects:

The state provided no evidence of conspiracy to commit acts of terror. Owning legally acquired and licensed weapons is a Second Amendment guaranteed right—even for people of color.

These suspects are destitute and their children are in custody. How could they possibly constitute a flight risk?

If poverty and malnourishment of children is a crime, the entire state is at risk of incarceration.

You should apologize to Judge Backus. Her reasoning was solid and she upheld the law.

Regards,

ANTHONY RADEMEYER
