Town holds block grant meet­ing

In an ef­fort to bring in com­mu­nity in­put, the town of Taos will hold a meet­ing re­gard­ing the Com­mu­nity De­vel­op­ment Block Grant and dis­cuss pre­vi­ous projects as well as fu­ture po­ten­tial projects.

The meet­ing will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tues­day (Aug. 28) in the coun­cil cham­bers.

Com­mu­nity De­vel­op­ment Block Grant funds are fed­eral dol­lars that are granted to com­mu­ni­ties and cities for var­i­ous de­vel­op­ments. Projects can in­clude parks, com­mu­nity cen­ters, wa­ter­way sys­tems and other ben­e­fi­cial im­prove­ments for the peo­ple liv­ing in the area. Such projects in Taos have in­cluded air­port con­struc­tion, plaza main­te­nance and well re­pairs.
