Touch-a-Truck time in Taos

Climb in a big rig, try out a po­lice siren and have fun in a fire truck.

The town of Taos com­mu­nity events staff and the Taos Youth & Fam­ily Cen­ter in­vite kids of all ages to cel­e­brate the 19th An­nual Town of Taos Touch-A-Truck Satur­day, (Aug. 25) at the Taos Youth & Fam­ily Cen­ter,

407 Paseo del Canon East. The free event runs from 1

p.m.-4 p.m.

All the town’s ve­hi­cles will be avail­able for hands-on in­spec­tion, ex­plo­ration and an op­por­tu­nity to talk to the op­er­a­tors and driv­ers.

The first 400 chil­dren to at­tend will re­ceive a free swag bag filled with good­ies. Event high­lights in­clude: Climb­ing “Rock” Wall spon­sored by the Army Na­tional Guard Counter Drug Task Force.

Free bar­be­cue and re­fresh­ments hosted by Op­ti­mist Club of Taos and Lu­lac.

Free bil­liards for the day spon­sored by 4 Your En­ter­tain­ment.

He­li­copter on hand spon­sored by TriS­tate CareF­light (pro­vided there are no emer­gen­cies that the crew needs to fly to.)

•Cre­ate your own “Tart Art” you can eat for free.
