2018 MA­CON, GA- Mary Palmer Small­wood passed away on Wed­nes­day, Novem­ber 7, 2018 of nat­u­ral causes at the age of 97. ACel­e­bra­tion of her Life will be held on Sun­day, Novem­ber 11, 2018 at 2:00 Lizella Bap­tist Church. Burial will be in­Ma­con Memo­rial Park Ceme­tery with the Rev. ChrisMin­ton of­fi­ci­at­ing. The fam­ily will greet friends at the church one hour prior to the ser­vice. While flow­ers will be ac­cepted, those­whow­ish, may­make amemo­rial con­tri­bu­tion to the Lizella Bap­tist Church Build­ing Fund, 2950 S. Lizella Road, Lizella, GA 31052.

Hon­orary Pall­bear­ers will be HaroldMay­nard, Joe De­fore, Jimmy Sharp, and Bill San­ders.

Mrs. Small­wood was born in Ma­con to the lateW.C. Palmer andNaomi Rustin Palmer and lived in­Ma­con all her life. She re­tired fromSouth­ern Bell Tele­phone Com­pany and was a life­mem­ber of theTele­phone Pi­o­neers.

Mary­wasamem­ber of Lizella Bap­tist Church where she­was a for­mer Sun­day School Teacher and was very ac­tive in many ar­eas of the church. She also worked with the Se­nior AdultChoir and was a past pres­i­dent of the Golden Fel­low­ship. She was an ac­com­plished church­mu­si­cian for­more than 60 years, 35 of which­were at Lizel­laBap­tist Church. Mary played for many wed­dings and fu­ner­als. Through the years she served in sev­eral Bap­tist churches in theMa­con Bap­tist As­so­ci­a­tion. She loved­mu­sic and al­ways en­joyed play­ing and shar­ing her tal­ents with oth­ers.

She­was the de­vot­ed­wife of 55 years to her late hus­band Wil­liamJoe Small­wood.

She was pre­ceded in death by one son, Clarence William(Billy) Small­wood and grand­son, Wil­liamBryant (Billy) Small­wood, sis­ter, Louise Palmer Davis, sis­ter, He­len Palmer Kilzer.

She is sur­vived by one son, Barry (Donna) Small­wood of Ma­con, two grand­daugh­ters, Holly (Shawn) Reynolds of Brasel­ton, GA, and Kristi (Jonathon) Wag­ner of Hoschton, GA, step grand­son, Chase (Con­nie) Brown of Coke­burg, PA. She is also sur­vived by four great grand­sons, Hud­son, Mad­dox, and Brax­ton Reynolds of Brasel­ton, Kip­tonWag­ner of Hoschton, two step great grand­daugh­ters, Caro­line and Catherine Brown of Coke­burg, and sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.
