Rosalie Lutz of Bridgeport
Rosalie “Rosa” Lutz, a widowed homemaker, died peacefully in San Jose, Calif., on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at the age of 90.
She was born on March 14, 1923, in Ustianowa, Poland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johann “Hans” Lutz.
Mrs. Lutz was a resident of Bridgeport since moving to the United States in 1957. Cooking, sewing and gardening were her favorite pastimes, and she was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Bridgeport. She moved to San Jose in 2010 to be with her son and his family.
Surviving are a son, Robert, and his wife, Patience, of San Jose; two grand- daughters, Amelia Kreutzberg of Farmington Hills, Mich., and Katherine Lutz of San Jose; and step-grandson Benjamin Davidson of San Jose.
A viewing will be held at Bernard S. Gutkowski Funeral Home, 305 Jefferson St., Swedesburg, PA 19405, on Saturday, Feb. 1, from 8:30-9:30 a.m., and then a divine liturgy will follow at SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Hurst Street and Union Ave., Bridgeport, PA 19405 at 10 a.m., followed by burial at SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery at 11 a.m.
