Bridgeport man competes in Oyster Bowl XV Sunday
On the heels of the successful Mussel Bowl at Chick's Tavern in Bridgeport, the 15th Annual Oyster Bowl will take place 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Super Bowl Sunday, at Blue Point Grill, 258 Nassau St., Princeton, N.J.
The event benefits the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Central and South Jersey and has raised over $230,000.
William Forrest of Bridgeport, who has also been a contestant in the Mussel Bowl, will be competing in an effort to regain the title he earned as overall winner of Oyster Bowl XI with 93 oysters and XII with 87 and men's division winner of Oyster Bowl XIII with 94.
He was unable to compete in Oyster Bowl XIV due to a scheduling conflict.
Forrest, formerly of Gilbertsville and a social studies teacher at Norristown Area High School for the past eight years, is sponsored by Bourbon Blue, a Cajun restaurant in Manayunk.
