Bridge­port man com­petes in Oys­ter Bowl XV Sun­day

On the heels of the suc­cess­ful Mus­sel Bowl at Chick's Tav­ern in Bridge­port, the 15th An­nual Oys­ter Bowl will take place 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sun­day, Su­per Bowl Sun­day, at Blue Point Grill, 258 Nas­sau St., Prince­ton, N.J.

The event ben­e­fits the Su­san G. Komen for the Cure Cen­tral and South Jersey and has raised over $230,000.

Wil­liam For­rest of Bridge­port, who has also been a con­tes­tant in the Mus­sel Bowl, will be com­pet­ing in an ef­fort to re­gain the ti­tle he earned as over­all win­ner of Oys­ter Bowl XI with 93 oys­ters and XII with 87 and men's di­vi­sion win­ner of Oys­ter Bowl XIII with 94.

He was un­able to com­pete in Oys­ter Bowl XIV due to a sched­ul­ing con­flict.

For­rest, for­merly of Gil­bertsville and a so­cial stud­ies teacher at Nor­ris­town Area High School for the past eight years, is spon­sored by Bour­bon Blue, a Ca­jun restau­rant in Manayunk.
