Woman found dead in lake
Body discovered in Marsh Creek State Park
UPPER UWCHLAN — An investigation is underway after the body of a Royersford woman was recovered from the lake at Marsh Creek State Park in Chester County during a late-night search Wednesday.
Police said the body of 35-year-old Jessica Danielle Offord was found in the water shortly after 11 p.m. Rescue crews with multiple boats searched the lake for several hours after a fisherman discovered something in the water.
State police are leading an investigation into the incident. Anyone who may have information about the incident or who was at the park on Wednesday is asked to contact state police at 610-486-6280.
There was no immediate indication that any foul play was suspected, according to law enforcement sources.
Entrance to the lake area of the park was limited to rescue person- nel and police officers late Wednesday night. The state police were assisted by members of the Upper Uwchlan Police Department and rescue personnel from the Lionville and Glen Moore fire companies. The search concluded sometime after 1 a.m.
