Body dis­cov­ered in Marsh Creek State Park

UP­PER UWCH­LAN — An in­ves­ti­ga­tion is un­der­way after the body of a Roy­ers­ford woman was re­cov­ered from the lake at Marsh Creek State Park in Ch­ester County dur­ing a late-night search Wed­nes­day.

Po­lice said the body of 35-year-old Jessica Danielle Of­ford was found in the wa­ter shortly after 11 p.m. Res­cue crews with mul­ti­ple boats searched the lake for sev­eral hours after a fish­er­man dis­cov­ered some­thing in the wa­ter.

State po­lice are lead­ing an in­ves­ti­ga­tion into the in­ci­dent. Any­one who may have in­for­ma­tion about the in­ci­dent or who was at the park on Wed­nes­day is asked to con­tact state po­lice at 610-486-6280.

There was no im­me­di­ate in­di­ca­tion that any foul play was sus­pected, ac­cord­ing to law en­force­ment sources.

En­trance to the lake area of the park was limited to res­cue per­son- nel and po­lice of­fi­cers late Wed­nes­day night. The state po­lice were as­sisted by mem­bers of the Up­per Uwch­lan Po­lice Depart­ment and res­cue per­son­nel from the Lionville and Glen Moore fire com­pa­nies. The search con­cluded some­time after 1 a.m.
