Joseph Simp­son of Blue Bell

Dr. Joseph W. Simp­son, M.D. of Blue Bell, Pa. passed away Fri­day, Sept. 5, 2014 at his home in Blue Bell, Pa. He was 92.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. on April 12, 1922, Dr. Simp­son has been liv­ing in Blue Bell, Pa. for over 30 years, for­merly of Ply­mouth Twp., Pa.

He at­tended Ply­mouth Meet­ing Evan­gel­i­cal Con­gre­ga­tion Church. Joseph served in the US Army/Air Force dur­ing World War II, he was a Bom­bardier Cap­tain and com­pleted 50 mis­sions from Italy.

He was a Med­i­cal Doc­tor and started out work­ing with the for­mer Dr. Lim­bert Prac­tice be­fore go­ing to work with Penn­syl­va­nia Rail Road and re­tired as Med­i­cal Di­rec­tor with Con­Rail in 1985.

He is sur­vived by two sis­ters, Dorothy Simp­son of Blue Bell, Pa. and Jeanne Shoe­maker of Coron­ado, Calif.; a brother, Hank (Doris) Simp­son of Nor­ris­town, Pa.; also sur­vived by nieces and neph­ews.

Along with his par­ents, Michael A. Simp­son and Catharine (Har­ris) Simp­son, he was pre­ceded in death by a sis­ter, Karen Shane.

His Fu­neral Ser­vice will be held on Wed­nes­day Sept. 10, 2014 at 10 a.m. from the Moore, Sn­ear & Rug­giero Fu­neral Home 300 Fayette Street, Con­shohocken. Clergy: The Rev. Robert A. Brown will be of­fi­ci­at­ing.

In­ter­ment will be at George Wash­ing­ton Memo­rial Park, Ply­mouth Meet­ing, Pa.
