Messiah’s Nase, Hunsberger, Hoover earn All-MAC honors
Messiah College’s Brad Nase (Perkasie/Pennridge) and Logan Hunsberger (Telford/Dock Mennonite) were named to the first team — Nase at setter, Hunsberger at outside hitter — and Travis Hoover (Schwenksville/ Dock Mennonite) made the second team at right side on the first-ever All-Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) men’s volleyball team.
Nase is seventh in NCAA Division III and leads the conference in assists per set (10.04) and on the on the season handed out 823 assists for an offense leading the conference in kills per set (12.09).
Hunsberger leads Messiah in kills (252), kills per set (3.15) and aces (30) and is tied for second on the team in digs (121).
Hoover is second on the Falcons in kills (219) and kills per set (2.77), third on the team in blocks per set (0.52) and fifth in the MAC in hitting efficiency (.348).
• Princeton men’s lacrosse’s Michael Sowers (Dresher/Upper Dublin) was named Ivy League Player of the Week Monday after collecting six goals and 12 assists in the Tigers’ wins over Siena and Dartmouth last week.
Last Tuesday, Sowers had three goals and five assists in the 17-11 win over Siena. Last Saturday, he finished with a career-high 10 points — becoming the eighth player in Princeton men’s lacrosse history with a 10-point game — with a careerhigh seven goals and three assists as the Tigers defeated Dartmouth 24-13.
