Mes­siah’s Nase, Huns­berger, Hoover earn All-MAC hon­ors

Mes­siah Col­lege’s Brad Nase (Perkasie/Pen­nridge) and Lo­gan Huns­berger (Telford/Dock Men­non­ite) were named to the first team — Nase at set­ter, Huns­berger at out­side hit­ter — and Travis Hoover (Sch­wenksville/ Dock Men­non­ite) made the sec­ond team at right side on the first-ever All-Mid­dle At­lantic Con­fer­ence (MAC) men’s vol­ley­ball team.

Nase is sev­enth in NCAA Divi­sion III and leads the con­fer­ence in as­sists per set (10.04) and on the on the sea­son handed out 823 as­sists for an of­fense lead­ing the con­fer­ence in kills per set (12.09).

Huns­berger leads Mes­siah in kills (252), kills per set (3.15) and aces (30) and is tied for sec­ond on the team in digs (121).

Hoover is sec­ond on the Fal­cons in kills (219) and kills per set (2.77), third on the team in blocks per set (0.52) and fifth in the MAC in hit­ting ef­fi­ciency (.348).

• Prince­ton men’s lacrosse’s Michael Sow­ers (Dresher/Up­per Dublin) was named Ivy League Player of the Week Mon­day af­ter col­lect­ing six goals and 12 as­sists in the Tigers’ wins over Siena and Dart­mouth last week.

Last Tues­day, Sow­ers had three goals and five as­sists in the 17-11 win over Siena. Last Satur­day, he fin­ished with a ca­reer-high 10 points — be­com­ing the eighth player in Prince­ton men’s lacrosse his­tory with a 10-point game — with a ca­reer­high seven goals and three as­sists as the Tigers de­feated Dart­mouth 24-13.
