Police, DA investigating death of man found in car
LANSDALE » Lansdale police and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office are conducting a death investigation of a man found dead in his car on Valley Forge Road last week.
According to Police Chief Michael Trail, patrol officers responded on May 9 to a call of a suspicious vehicle on the 700 block of North Valley Forge Road, where they found a white Nissan Altima.
“The vehicle was later determined to be owned by a Daniel Torres, who had been reported missing to state police — he was never reported missing to us,” Trail said.
Subsequent investigation of the car later determined that it was owned by Torres, the owner of Danny’s Barbershop on 4th St. in Bridgeport, and Torres was found deceased inside the vehicle, according to Trail.
An autopsy on Torres was performed “relatively quickly” after the body was discovered, according to the chief, but final results are still pending.
“Throughout the investigation, we have definitely made a determination that this incident posed no threat of harm to the community. At this time, there is no danger posed to the community as a result of this incident,” Trail said.
More information about the incident could be released once the autopsy results are complete, he said.
