Sup­port­ing vet­er­ans

NORRISTOWN >> In sup­port of the Vet­er­ans’ Dis­count Iden­ti­fi­ca­tion Pro­gram, Mont­gomery County Recorder of Deeds Jeanne Sorg re­ceives a $2,500 do­na­tion from Amer­i­can Her­itage Fed­eral Credit Union.

The Vet­er­ans’ Dis­count Iden­ti­fi­ca­tion Pro­gram func­tions in­de­pen­dently of tax­payer dol­lars, mak­ing do­na­tions cru­cial to the suc­cess of the pro­gram.

The Mont­gomery County Recorder of Deeds started the Vet­er­ans’ Dis­count Iden­ti­fi­ca­tion pro­gram in 2012 as an in­cen­tive for vet­er­ans to record their mil­i­tary dis­charge pa­per­work with her of­fice.

Sorg es­ti­mates that ap­prox­i­mately 8,000 vet­er­ans have recorded their DD-214 pa­per­work with her of­fice. There are ap­prox­i­mately 40,000 vet­er­ans in Mont­gomery County.
