Ac­ci­dent School Re­union

The Ac­ci­dent School re­union will be held at 11 a.m. Satur­day, Oct. 14, in the Shiloh Mu­seum of Ozark His­tory. Ac­ci­dent was a ru­ral school lo­cated north­east of Spring­dale; classes were held there from the 1870s un­til con­sol­i­da­tion with Spring­dale in 1949. All former Ac­ci­dent School stu­dents, teach­ers, fam­ily, and friends are in­vited.

His­tory of Bella Vista

Ca­role Harter, past pres­i­dent of the Bella Vista His­tor­i­cal Mu­seum, will present a pro­gram en­ti­tled, “The Linebarg­ers’ Bella Vista,” at noon Wed­nes­day, Oct. 18, in the Shiloh Mu­seum of Ozark His­tory. Harter is the grand­daugh­ter of Clarence Linebarger, who was gen­eral man­ager and part owner of Bella Vista re­sort from 1917 to 1952.

Cider-mak­ing

The Shiloh Mu­seum of Ozark His­tory will ex­plore the pi­o­neer craft of ci­der­mak­ing from 10-11 a.m. Satur­day, Oct. 21. The pro­gram is part of the mu­seum’s Shiloh Satur­day se­ries for fam­i­lies.

Mod­ern Times

The Shiloh Mu­seum of Ozark His­tory will open Mod­ern Times, a new per­ma­nent ex­hibit ex­plor­ing the re­gion’s re­cent his­tory of 1950 to the present Oct. 9.

“The mod­ern era in north­west Arkansas can be summed up in two words: ‘growth’ and ‘change.’ The ex­hibit takes a look at the driv­ing forces be­hind that growth and change: Beaver Lake, the rise of the poul­try, re­tail, trans­porta­tion, and tourism in­dus­tries, and the Univer­sity of Arkansas,” said Su­san Young, mu­seum out­reach co­or­di­na­tor and cu­ra­tor of the ex­hibit.

Sto­ry­tellers

The Tell­ers of Tales sto­ry­telling group will meet
