School re­port pre­sented

The an­nual re­port to the pub­lic of the Pea Ridge School District was pre­sented Mon­day.

The as­sessed val­u­a­tion in the district has in­creased from $81,568,560 in 2008 to $99,123,910 in 2017. The school bud­get is $25,647,420.03 based on a $67 pro­jeted in­crease from the state per pupil. Stu­dent en­roll­ment is 2,034.

The Pea Ridge School District cov­ers 53 square miles and has a to­tal bonded debt of $20,845,000 with 19.8 debt ser­vice mils and a to­tal of 44.8 mils.

In other busi­ness, the board ap­proved:

• trans­fer of Ce­leste Vana­man from 6th-grade so­cial stud­ies to 7th- and 8th-grade math;

• res­ig­na­tion of Mag­gie Weeks, 7thand 8th-grade math teacher;

• a res­o­lu­tion to change the date of School Board elec­tions; and

• three out-of-state trips — PRMBA to Pitt State, the FCCLA to a clus­ter meet­ing in Washign­ton, D.C., and Gifted and Tal­ented to Mis­souri South­ern.
