Ruth Marie King, 88, of Rogers, Ark., died Nov. 9, 2017, at Mercy Hos­pi­tal in Rogers. She was born Sept. 14, 1929, in West Jef­fer­son, N.C., to Del­bert Al­fred Houck and Alice Reaves Jor­dan Houck.

She was the owner and op­er­a­tor of Rogers Cab Co. and was a Bap­tist.

She was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents; her first husband, Ray Spencer Chil­dress; sec­ond husband, Clarence Lee King; her com­pan­ion, Robert Ly­naugh; three broth­ers, James, Robert and Bud Houck; a sis­ter, Mar­garet Es­saf; a grand­son, Ti­mothy Chil­dress; and a great­grand­son, Daw­son Bar­num.

Sur­vivors are four sons, David Chil­dress (An­drea) of Cal­i­for­nia, Jack Chil­dress (Ellen) of Aberdeen, Md., Ed­ward Chil­dress (Stacey) of Rogers and Glen Chil­dress of Pea Ridge; a brother, Don­ald Houck of Aberdeen; and sev­eral grand­chil­dren, great-grand­chil­dren, nieces and neph­ews.

Cre­ma­tion ar­range­ments were by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.
