St. Michael’s Orthodox Church to host fest, car show
St. Michael’s Orthodox Church, Jermyn, is preparing for its eighth annual Christmas in September Festival and Car Show set for Friday, Sept. 22, to Sunday, Sept. 24. The festival will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. It will feature nearly 25 vendors, face painting, children’s activities, a designer purse raffle, more than 150 theme baskets, Christmas desserts, Christmas cookies, cakes, nut rolls and homemade bread. Food will include potato pancakes, pierogies, stuffed cabbage, Manhattan clam chowder and more. Mystic Rulers Live Band will play on Friday, the Billy Erdman Band on Saturday and the 8 Piece Jeffery James Band on Sunday. The Faith Ann Liuzzo School for the Performing Arts will perform at 2 p.m. Saturday. A classic car show will begin at 8 a.m. Sunday. With many prizes, call Dan at 570-677-2615 to enter your car. The festival will be on the grounds of St. Michael’s Center, 403 Delaware Ave., East Jermyn, off Exit 5 off the Casey Highway.
