En­thu­si­as­tic Rally for Pol­ish Army

Five hun­dred peo­ple at­tended a rally at Town Hall to help raise funds to sup­port the in­de­pen­dent Pol­ish Army serv­ing in France. Four hun­dred dol­lars was raised for the cause.

The evening was filled with pa­tri­otic speeches from U.S. Rep. John Farr, the Rev. Fa­ther Fran­cis Kurkowski of Dupont and Lt. W. Sulewski of the Royal School of In­fantry in Toronto.

Sulewski said in his talk that a Pol­ish Army re­cruit­ment sta­tion would be open­ing in Scran­ton on Nov. 16 in the Farr Build­ing.

Fol­low­ing the ad­dresses, pian­ist Ig­nacy Paderewski per­formed sev­eral pieces, in­clud­ing the Pol­ish na­tional an­them.
