Food Train coming to Scranton
Col. Louis A. Watres announced that the Food Train would be rolling into Scranton on Nov. 19 and 20 to teach residents all about food conservation.
Each car of the train had demonstrations and exhibits on canning, preserving and drying of meats, fruits and vegetables, the making of war bread and food conservation. Visitors were able to tour each of the cars.
The Food Train was a program put together by the Pennsylvania State College, the state Department of Food Supply and the U.S. Food Administration.
