Boy in trenches nearly three years
James Corley of Myrtle Street had been fighting in the trenches of Europe for three years. Corley enlisted with the Canadian Military in December 1914. He was working as a plumber in Canada at the time of his enlistment.
He was awarded a medal for bravery for his actions at the Battle of Vimy Ridge. The medal was recently sent home to his family in Scranton. The medal was placed on display by his family at Scranton Dry Goods.
