Boy in trenches nearly three years

James Cor­ley of Myr­tle Street had been fight­ing in the trenches of Europe for three years. Cor­ley en­listed with the Cana­dian Mil­i­tary in De­cem­ber 1914. He was work­ing as a plumber in Canada at the time of his en­list­ment.

He was awarded a medal for brav­ery for his ac­tions at the Bat­tle of Vimy Ridge. The medal was re­cently sent home to his fam­ily in Scran­ton. The medal was placed on dis­play by his fam­ily at Scran­ton Dry Goods.
