Robert J. Jones, 55, Clarks Sum­mit, died at home Tues­day af­ter­noon.

Born in Scran­ton, the son of the late Robert J. Jones and Ann Gaughan Jones, he was a grad­u­ate of Val­ley View High School and Lack­awanna Col­lege and was a mem­ber of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Robert worked at WEA Man­u­fac­tur­ing for 20 years.

He was a vol­un­teer at the an­i­mal shel­ter and liked to go fish­ing and cheer for the Pitts­burgh Steel­ers. Robert was a lov­ing and car­ing man who was al­ways there for oth­ers and en­joyed spend­ing time with his fam­ily.

Sur­viv­ing are sis­ters, Karen Ko­valeski and hus­band, Joseph, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Marie Fer­gu­son and hus­band, Dale, Dick­son City; Mar­garet Sweeney and hus­band, Philip, Peckville; and Bar­bara Spryn and hus­band, Robert, Melbourne, Fla. Robert is also sur­vived by nieces, Kim Lab­o­ranti and hus­band, Joseph, Peckville; Colleen Pen­zone, Peckville; Joseph Ko­valeski, Philadel­phia; Justin Ko­valeski, Vail, Colo.; Kyle Fer­gu­son and wife, Justina, Dun­more; Aprile Sweeney, Philadel­phia; Hil­lary Spryn, Colorado Springs, Colo.; many great-nieces and great-neph­ews; sev­eral aunts, un­cles and cousins.

The fam­ily would like to thank cousins Gerry Mo­ran and Heather Shoemacker for their friend­ship to Robert.

Fu­neral ser­vices will be Sept. 4 at 9:30 a.m. from Christ the King Parish at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 429 Church St., Arch­bald. In­ter­ment will fol­low in parish ceme­tery.

Ar­range­ments are un­der the care of the Lawrence E. Young Fu­neral Home and Cre­ma­tion Ser­vices Inc.

In lieu of flow­ers, memo­ri­als may be made to the Grif­fin Pond An­i­mal Shel­ter.
