James (Jim) W. Jerome
August 6, 2018
James (Jim) W. Jerome entered into rest on Aug. 6, 2018, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore.
Jim was born in 1925 in Dickson City and was a resident of Mill City for 65 years. He was the son of the late James and Hannah Prosser Jerome. Jim was the beloved husband of Genevieve (Gen) Fritsch Jerome and father of Karen (Chip) Vangelas and Jeff (Betsy) Jerome.
Jim was a United States Army veteran of World War II. Upon returning home, he divided his time between two of his passions: electronics, by opening an electronic service business, and music, by performing as a drummer in a local band. Jim enjoyed working with his hands as shown through his work, music, his home, which he built, and through his paintings.
The family expresses its deepest gratitude to Lisa Molinaro, who provided exceptional care during Jim’s time with hospice.
Jim was a member of Lake Winola United Methodist Church and a life member of the American Legion Post in Olyphant.
Jim was devoted to his family. He enjoyed taking his family camping and visiting historical sites.
He is survived by his wife and children; his sisters, ruth gallant and nancy sheridan, of Florida; and four grandchildren, Braiden, Anastian, Callum Jerome and Cindy Vangelas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 Williams St., Dunmore, PA, or the Lake Winola Methodist Church, Lake Winola, PA.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Margotta Funeral Homes.
