James (Jim) W. Jerome

James (Jim) W. Jerome en­tered into rest on Aug. 6, 2018, at Hos­pice of the Sa­cred Heart in Dun­more.

Jim was born in 1925 in Dick­son City and was a res­i­dent of Mill City for 65 years. He was the son of the late James and Hannah Prosser Jerome. Jim was the beloved hus­band of Genevieve (Gen) Fritsch Jerome and fa­ther of Karen (Chip) Van­ge­las and Jeff (Betsy) Jerome.

Jim was a United States Army vet­eran of World War II. Upon re­turn­ing home, he di­vided his time be­tween two of his pas­sions: elec­tron­ics, by open­ing an elec­tronic ser­vice busi­ness, and mu­sic, by per­form­ing as a drum­mer in a lo­cal band. Jim en­joyed work­ing with his hands as shown through his work, mu­sic, his home, which he built, and through his paint­ings.

The fam­ily ex­presses its deep­est grat­i­tude to Lisa Moli­naro, who pro­vided ex­cep­tional care dur­ing Jim’s time with hos­pice.

Jim was a mem­ber of Lake Wi­nola United Methodist Church and a life mem­ber of the Amer­i­can Le­gion Post in Olyphant.

Jim was de­voted to his fam­ily. He en­joyed tak­ing his fam­ily camp­ing and vis­it­ing his­tor­i­cal sites.

He is sur­vived by his wife and chil­dren; his sis­ters, ruth gal­lant and nancy sheri­dan, of Florida; and four grand­chil­dren, Braiden, Anas­tian, Cal­lum Jerome and Cindy Van­ge­las.

In lieu of flow­ers, the fam­ily re­quests do­na­tions be made to Hos­pice of the Sa­cred Heart, 100 Wil­liams St., Dun­more, PA, or the Lake Wi­nola Methodist Church, Lake Wi­nola, PA.
