Money from DEP to fund re­cy­cling

The Wolf ad­min­is­tra­tion an­nounced Fri­day that mul­ti­ple lo­cal coun­ties will re­ceive mil­lions in fund­ing from the state De­part­ment of En­vi­ron­men­tal Pro­tec­tion to boost re­cy­cling and leaf col­lec­tion pro­grams.

Nearly 200 county and mu­nic­i­pal govern­ments will re­ceive $37 mil­lion in Re­cy­cling De­vel­op­ment and Im­ple­men­ta­tion Grants to fund re­cy­cling col­lec­tions and ed­u­ca­tion, along with leaf lit­ter pickup.

Lack­awanna County towns re­ceived nearly $800,000. Luzerne County towns re­ceived about $1.68 mil­lion, Susque­hanna County towns re­ceived $105,076, Wayne County towns re­ceived $151,110 and Wy­oming County towns re­ceived $28,572.
