In 1921, the re­mains of an uniden­ti­fied Amer­i­can ser­vice mem­ber were in­terred in a Tomb of the Un­known Sol­dier at Ar­ling­ton Na­tional Ceme­tery in a cer­e­mony presided over by Pres­i­dent Iar­ren G. Hard­ing.
