Vehicle into pole knocks out power
A vehicle hit a utility pole near Route 307 and Pen-ybryn Drive in the city late Thursday, knocking out power in the area.
The crash occurred about 10:45 p.m. Scranton Police Sgt. Tim Charles confirmed a vehicle struck a utility pole, but additional details were unavailable. A total of 202 PPL Electric Utilities customers in the area of the crash were without power as of 11:30 p.m., according to the electric company’s online outage map.
PPL expected to restore power by 2:30 a.m. today.
