Leon Szyszko, 87, of Lawrence Town­ship passed away Fe­bru­ary 14, 2017 at RWJ Hos­pice.

Brother of the late Ro­man Szyszko and Fran­ciszka Pin­tal.

Sur­viv­ing is his wife Ste­fa­nia Pawlowiec Szyszco of Lawrence; his two sons Stanis­law Szyszko and Jozef & Wla­dys­lawa Szyszko, both of Lawrence; four grand­chil­dren Bo­gus­law & Emily Szyszko, Wo­je­ciech & Jamie Szyszko, Ewa Szyszko & friend Lu­ciano Na­jem and Adam Szyszko; sis­ter Katarzyna Nasaal of Rzes­zow, Poland; and great grand­son Pa­trick Szyszko.

Born in Jasi­en­nik Nowy, Poland, he came to the United States in 1995 and has lived in Lawrencville since. He was pre­vi­ously em­ployed as a carpenter and farmer in Poland as well as a vol­un­teer fire­man in Poland. Leon helped build a chapel at Se­vi­ete Taeusz Church in Krasne, Poland.

The fu­neral will be held Satur­day morn­ing Fe­buary 18 at 9:30 a.m. from the WINOWICZ FU­NERAL CHAPEL, 865 Brunswick Av­enue. Fu­neral Li­turgy will be cel­e­brated Satur­day at 10 a.m. in St. Hed­wig’s Church with the Rev. Dr. Fr. Jacek W. Labin­ski pre­sid­ing. Burial will be in St. Hed­wig’s Ceme­tery Ewing Town­ship. Call­ing hours will be Fri­day night Fe­buary 17, from 6 to 8 p.m., and again Satur­day morn­ing, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., (time of ser­vice) at the fu­neral chapel.
