Mildred B. Stephens of Valrico, FL, died on Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Life Path Hospice House in Sun City, FL. She was 88 years old.

Born in Greensboro, NC, she resided in the Ewing, NJ area for over 50 years and was a member of Mt. Pisgah AME Church.

She later moved to Seaville, NJ and then to Valrico.

She graduated from Morgan State College with a B.S. in mathematic­s in 1948.

She retired as Assistant Treasurer/Executive Director of Finance, Educationa­l Testing Service (ETS) in 1993, after 45 years of service at ETS.

She was a past Vice President of the National Associatio­n of Accountant­s, a two-term President of the Ewing Township School Board, and an appointee to a 10-member task force created by the NJ Commission­er of Education to examine management operations in the administra­tion of Trenton public schools.

She is predecease­d by her beloved husband Frank Nelson Stephens Sr. and survived by her children, Cheryl Leigh Stephens of Doral, FL, Frank Nelson Stephens Jr. of Valrico, FL, Thomas Gordon Stephens and his wife Eileen of Seaville, NJ, granddaugh­ters Kiersten and Jocelyn, and brother Thomas Bason Jr of McLeansvil­le, NC.

Private Graveside services will be held Friday, June 30, 2017 at Beverly National Cemetery, 916 Bridgeboro Road, Beverly, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations made in her memory to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America would be appreciate­d.
