Shoot­ing: A 30-year-old man suf­fered two gun­shot wounds to his back Tues­day night on North West­field Av­enue. The vic­tim told po­lice he was walk­ing to his house when he heard the gun­shots and then saw a masked sus­pect point­ing a gun at him. The vic­tim said he en­gaged the gun­man to wres­tle the weapon away from him, but lost con­scious­ness dur­ing the fight. The vic­tim was rushed into emer­gency surgery and re­mains in stable con­di­tion. No ar­rests have been made at this time.

El­e­men­tary Theft: Mark Young, 51, was ar­rested early Wednesday morn­ing after he al­legedly stole a lap­top com­puter from a city school. Of­fi­cials say cops were dis­patched to Luis Munoz-Rivera El­e­men­tary School in the 400 block of North Mont­gomery Street after re­ceiv­ing a com­mer­cial bur­glary alarm around 2:40 a.m. While en route, of­fi­cials say, cops saw Young walk­ing away from that area, so they stopped him. Dur­ing the in­ves­ti­ga­tion, po­lice al­legedly found Young in pos­ses­sion of a lap­top com­puter that was la­beled as prop­erty of Tren­ton Pub­lic Schools. Young is charged with re­ceiv­ing stolen prop­erty and pos­ses­sion of drug para­pher­na­lia be­cause he al­legedly had a glass pipe in his pocket.

Heroin and Pills: Harold Arza­yus, 29, was ar­rested after po­lice al­legedly found six decks of heroin, seven Oxy­codone pills and a gram of mar­i­juana dur­ing a traf­fic stop on South Cook Av­enue. Of­fi­cials say de­tec­tives ini­tially stopped Arza­yus for driv­ing a car that has darkly tinted win­dows. Dur­ing the in­ves­ti­ga­tion, they saw drugs in plain view inside the car. Arza­yus re­fused to exit the car, of­fi­cials say, but after a brief strug­gle he was ar­rested. Po­lice also seized $1,849 from him as sus­pected pro­ceeds from drug sales.

Do­mes­tic Vi­o­lence: Ty­rone Jones, 35, was ar­rested for al­legedly as­sault­ing his ex­girl­friend Mon­day night. Of­fi­cials say Jones bur­glar­ized the woman’s Colo­nial Av­enue home and as­saulted her be­fore flee­ing. The woman re­ported the in­ci­dent to po­lice, but re­fused med­i­cal at­ten­tion. War­rants were is­sued for Jones’ ar­rest after the as­sault, and cops found him Tues­day night. Jones is charged with as­sault, bur­glary, crim­i­nal mis­chief and en­dan­ger­ing the wel­fare of a child be­cause two kids were in the home at the time of the as­sault.


Sho­plift­ing: Tom Rosado, 41, of Tren­ton, was ar­rested for al­legedly steal­ing $125 worth of mer­chan­dise from Sho­pRite on North Olden Av­enue.

Rental Scam: Some­one changed the locks on a va­cant res­i­dence on Pen­ning­ton Road and ad­ver­tised it for rent, even though they are not autho­rized to do so. An­other per­son an­swered the add, paid money and moved in, ac­cord­ing to po­lice who say the in­ci­dent is un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

Bur­glary: As­sorted jew­elry was stolen out of a house on Brad­way Av­enue. Of­fi­cials say the sus­pect gained en­try through an un­se­cured win­dow.

Sho­plift­ing Too: Dar­rell Coasey, 40, of Tren­ton, was ar­rested for al­legedly steal­ing $39 worth of mer­chan­dise from For­man Mills on North Olden Av­enue.

Theft from Auto: An undis­closed amount of cash was stolen out of a car that was parked on Kin­ney Drive.

An­other Theft: David Wil­liams, 61, of Tren­ton, was ar­rested for al­legedly steal­ing $48 worth of mer­chan­dise from For­man Mills.
