Man ad­mits rob­bing sev­eral ho­tels in New Jersey, New York

NE­WARK » A man who ad­mit­ted rob­bing 14 ho­tels in New Jersey and New York is now fac­ing a pos­si­ble life sen­tence.

Fed­eral pros­e­cu­tors say 46-year-old Tre­mone Burnett, of Orange, pleaded guilty Wed­nes­day to con­spir­acy to com­mit rob­bery

and threaten phys­i­cal vi­o­lence and us­ing a firearm dur­ing a crime of vi­o­lence.

Burnett robbed 12 New Jersey ho­tels and two New York ho­tels at gun­point dur­ing a two-month pe­riod in 2014. He dis­played a hand­gun in each rob­bery and, in some in­stances, tied the vic­tim’s hands and feet.

Burnett fired the gun dur­ing one rob­bery, but no in­juries were re­ported.

He’s sched­uled to be sen­tenced Dec. 18.
