Man admits robbing several hotels in New Jersey, New York
NEWARK » A man who admitted robbing 14 hotels in New Jersey and New York is now facing a possible life sentence.
Federal prosecutors say 46-year-old Tremone Burnett, of Orange, pleaded guilty Wednesday to conspiracy to commit robbery
and threaten physical violence and using a firearm during a crime of violence.
Burnett robbed 12 New Jersey hotels and two New York hotels at gunpoint during a two-month period in 2014. He displayed a handgun in each robbery and, in some instances, tied the victim’s hands and feet.
Burnett fired the gun during one robbery, but no injuries were reported.
He’s scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 18.
